Hey guys, I was checking out ways to boost my PC with the FX 4350, GTX 960, and 9GB RAM. My main concern is whether doing an overclock would actually improve performance, frames per second, or if it's not worth the effort.

Hyper212 is acceptable. Your motherboard has low quality. You might face restrictions on what you can achieve: Try your best, but I wouldn't invest further unless it fits into a future upgrade. Graphics, SSD, case would work fine. RAM, CPU, and motherboard wouldn't be suitable.

Sure, if you push it to a high setting, you'll see a big boost in performance.

There’s plenty more to gain from an FX-4350 that’s worth considering.

Any additional benefits from an FX-4350 are worth it. What kind of motherboard do you have? You'll need something superior to average if you plan to overclock. Also, a better cooler than the standard one is necessary. I currently use a hyper evo 212 with a 760gma-p34 motherboard and an evga 600W power supply.

Could an OC affect my PC? I’m aiming for 4.8GHz or higher, possibly 5 if possible—just looking to optimize performance.

Maintain your temperatures carefully and you should be fine.
You might struggle to reach such levels.
It varies based on the chip's condition.
Those using top-tier chips report 5.0, while others remain quiet.

It varies with chip quality. Good chips report 5.0, poor ones stay quiet. So 5 is excessive or it should be acceptable?

Everyone has their own chips. I really question whether you can go that far even with one of the top binned FX-4350 chips. A little more caution and a stress test would help. If you succeed, you can push it further. Reaching 60c is roughly your maximum.
