I previously tested my DDR3 Mushkin Redline modules at a voltage of 9-10-9-27-36 with a 1T current.

I'll give it a shot with something similar for the first few numbers. Perhaps increasing all the numbers by about two should work. Regarding the CPU setting, raising it to 1.45 at air speed seems risky—some users are warning about potential issues. Check the latest forum discussions for more insights.

How did you even manage to get an SR2? I think 96GB RAM is more than enough, so just reduce half of it. I don’t know what RAM you actually have—good ones usually handle overclocking well and stable voltage scaling. My extreme DDR2 runs around 2.6V and can hit up to 1270MHz, while my Zepplin DDR2 reaches about 2.4V and goes up to ~1086MHz. Chinese RAMs with Samsung dies rarely exceed 1000MHz and don’t respond well to higher voltages. Maybe try some 2133 or 2400MHz DDR3 sticks like Corsair Dominator Platinum or Trident X. They’re typically 4GB modules, so you can fit a lot of memory into your system. Ideally, keep only one channel active per RAM stick so the IC doesn’t get overloaded.

1.45 is a bit high, but your RAM usage is significant. I tested an X5690 for ten years mostly with a 3x2 kit of STT Chromes. They’re rated for 2000 8-8-8, but I often ran them at 1600 6-6-6 or 1800 7-7-7. Eventually, I moved to some BBSE and ran at 2000 7-9-7, then Z77 at 2133 8-9-8 or 2200 9-10-9. You might want to try 1.45v, just keep an eye on it. You’re probably already monitoring it.

Yea, Ryzen would likely be a better choice instead of sticking with an old platform. The SR2 is mostly just collectible or for extreme builds now—it’s not practical for daily use. Could you share the BIOS chip details? (It’s usually close to a CMOS battery.) Maybe I can help you flash SR2 bios on budget server boards, so you don’t need to buy rare MBS. Sorry for the delayed response, had to rush to collect my herbs. As usual, use only what's necessary. Usually I begin high and gradually lower. Vtt 1.45v sits near the top of the range—so expect mixed reactions from it.

It looks like 1.425v is the lowest setting needed to start initializing 96gbs of memory reliably, even without overclocking. I can run a single boot to set everything up, so I’m comfortable with that risk.
