Hey, sometimes my computer freezes completely and I can't do anything... So I hold down the power button and it shuts down. When I restart, it shows "Overclocking failed, please press F1 to reconfigure your system," then I press F1, followed by F10 (save and quit), and it starts working again. This has happened 5-7 times, any ideas? 😀

Hey emil.
Can you tell us the rest of the components?
Do you actually have overclock on the cpu rams or gpu?

There seems to be an issue with your BIOS configuration, which is unusual because it should reset automatically after a failed boot. It might also be related to overheating. Check the CPU thermometer here: http://www.softsea.com/download/CPU-Thermometer.html. Monitor the temperature; if it exceeds 70 degrees, inspect the CPU cooler. If this isn't the cause, try resetting the BIOS by turning off the PSU, placing a small battery (round or silver) inside, pressing the power button a few times, and then reinserting the battery. This should clear the BIOS settings.

My components include an i7 5820K, two GeForce GTX 980 4GB SLI cards, 16 DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz, an Asus Deluxe X99 motherboard, a Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler. I suspect the issue might be due to differing RAM and motherboard speeds, as my RAM is 2133 MHz while the motherboard runs at 3200. How can I adjust the motherboard speed settings in the BIOS? Also, I don’t plan to overclock anything. It’s not when I start up that causes problems, but during gameplay—especially in GTA or other visually demanding titles like COD AW. The system boots normally.

Emil Plambech shares his setup details: i7 5820K, two GeForce GTX 980 4GB SLI, 16 DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz, Asus Deluxe X99, Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler. He mentions uncertainty about RAM and motherboard speed differences, asking how to adjust the motherboard speed in settings. He clarifies he doesn’t overclock and that performance issues only appear during intense gaming sessions like GTA or COD. He believes the motherboard supports up to 3200 MHz and that the problem lies elsewhere.

Emil, it's recommended to install the latest BIOS. That should fix your problem.

Hey there,
Sometimes my computer freezes completely and I can't do anything... So I press the power button and it shuts down. When I try to boot it up, it shows an error saying "Overclocking failed, please press F1 to reconfigure your system", then I press F1, followed by F10, (save and quit) and it starts working again. This has happened 5-7 times now. Any ideas? 😀
