overclocking core 2 duo e8400
Hi, I'm having trouble overclocking my CPU. When I power off the PC and turn it back on three times, the system reports an overclock failure. Even after resetting the default settings, the issue persists and the PC still functions normally but doesn't reach optimal performance.
Specs: CPU - Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz, Mainboard - MSI P41-C33 DDR3, RAM - 2*2 GB, 534 MHz FSB, Clock speeds 5:8, Clock rate 7.0, TrCD 7, TPR 7, TRPD 20, TFRC 86, Command Rate 2T.
I've tried 400*9 MHz, 1.325V, auto settings, and 350*9 MHz with the same results. My PSU seems to be a Chinese model, possibly around 400W.
The most straightforward approach is to tapemod an E7500 from 266 fsb to 333fsb. With voltage control, using an E7600 would be even more effective. 3.83GHz. Adjust the fsb from there. The second photo is all you need to do.
