I was experimenting with firestorm using my 960 graphics card and adjusted a framerate setting from 40 to 60. After the change, my computer restarted and the monitor indicated it needed to be set to the recommended 60hz. I can access my desktop and the menu button, but it still shows 1920x1080 at 60hz. I assumed restarting would fix the issue since firestorm doesn't apply its settings when not open, but it continues to happen. I'm unsure what to do and feel like I've locked myself out of my own system. I tried various boot modes without success.

Are there any built-in video connections on your motherboard? If so, attempt to remove all 960 ports and see if you can access Windows through them. This method might allow you to uninstall software like Firestorm. If that fails, consider using a different video output on 960 besides the one you're currently using. If none of these work, a CMOS reset could be an option, though it's unlikely to help. In such cases, creating an ISO or repair drive from another PC might be necessary.

The program might be pushing your display to a higher refresh rate, possibly altering the "pixel clock." Have you made any adjustments related to that?

The program might be making your monitor refresh at a higher speed, possibly due to changes in the pixel clock. I only adjusted the framerate and don’t know how to revert or reset the system.

Have you checked all available boot configurations? Did you attempt to start in safe mode? Which application or software triggered the problem?

I experimented with various boot settings but none resolved the issue. The device came with firestorm, which was installed on my 960 system.

If you can access your desktop, can you remove the firestorm program? There are alternative tools available if you're attempting an overclock. Because this hasn't happened before with this software, it must remain connected to it at some point during the operating system.

I’m unable to access the desktop. Once I’m there, I’d be able to adjust the settings to 1920x1080 at 60hz.

I was referring to your initial message about reaching the desktop. If you have a USB or CD, you might attempt a factory reset or enter safe mode to uninstall firestorm. You may need another PC if that doesn't work. I've been told that failing to boot three times will trigger Windows to show the repair options, though this applies to versions 8, 8.1, and 10. I'm not sure which version you're using.

Can't I, I can fix that typo. I have Windows 10 but it's not failing to boot. It just isn't showing the desktop because I changed the refresh rate. Perhaps using a faster monitor would let me access my desktop and reverse the change.
