overclocking bclk frequency assistance
I'm checking if I can push my CPU beyond the current BCLK setting to the next higher option, like 100:130. Would adjusting it require a voltage increase? After changing it to 100:100, my game runs smoother but my CPU temperature has risen—was that expected? My system specs are: I7-4970 3.6GHz 4 core, Asus q87m-e, Crucial ballistix 24Gb RAM (4×2) and (8x2), Seagate 1TB HDD, MSI R9 380, Evga 500w.
Just keep in mind that CPU speed comes from multiplying the multiplier by BCLK... so 36 times 100 equals 3600, but 36 times 130 equals 4680. Unless you're a skilled overclocker, I'd avoid adjusting BCLK since it also affects DRAM timings and other system parameters (PCH, PCIe, etc.)
