During the process of overclocking Asus Strix NVidia GPUs, increasing the temperature target to the highest level around 91°C might be necessary. It may seem excessive, but it’s likely the target won’t actually reach that point. Many guides set it at the maximum to ensure stability and performance. Regarding fan settings, you can stick with the standard curve without modifications, as the Asus Strix series already provides excellent cooling capabilities.

I think they do it to let the card operate at 80°C without causing thermal throttling, which would make the overclocking pointless. I’d check the temperatures and tweak the fan settings to suit my comfort level.

I think they do it to keep the card running at 80 C without causing thermal throttling, which would make overclocking ineffective. I’d check the temperatures and tweak the fan curve to suit your comfort level. Would 80C be a sensible temperature? Usually 60-75 is considered acceptable.

That's a significantly wider range than 80 C. 80 is quite demanding for a GPU, but others are focused on achieving the maximum clock speed, even if it means using an 80 C GPU.
