Overclocking - Asus P7H55-M LE Mobo & Intel Core i5-760 Processor 2.8 GHz
Hi everyone, I’m planning a new upgrade in about two months, but until then I was hoping you could assist me in getting more performance out of my current system. Here’s what I have (all components are stock):
- Asus P7H55-M LE Motherboard (Max 8GB RAM)
- Intel Core i5-760 Processor 2.8 GHz with 8 MB cache, LGA1156 socket
- Corsair Vengeance - DDR3 - 8 GB: 2 x 4 GB DIMM, 240-pin, 1600 MHz / PC3-12800, CL9, 1.5V, unbuffered - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B
- EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW with DVI-I/HDMI/Display Port, GDDR5 graphics card with ACX cooling 02G-P4-3757-KR
I have no experience with overclocking or voltage terms—I just want to know what’s safe to try with stock cooling. Also, any simple step-by-step guides would be really helpful. Thanks a lot! This community has always been so supportive.
I have almost identical configuration except for using the Biostar T5xe-sli board and 1333MHz DDr3 8gb ram. However, I believe the built-in cooler isn't sufficient for any overclocking attempts on the i5-760 as seen in some YouTube videos and forum discussions. I recommend upgrading to a better cooler first. I think the CPU has a decent range of overclock potential.
