I see, I need more clarity. DDR5 isn't something you get by just using DDR4 setups. It's a different architecture, and trying to run DDR4 on DDR5 won't give you the right performance.

I prefer to wait for a solid memory controller before attempting this. It's similar to comparing memory overclocking on X99 versus Z170—it's fundamentally different. Early platforms handle memory overclocking in a way that contrasts with later generations like the 2nd gen or beyond. DDR5 will follow the same pattern, and most users experience it more consistently on Alder Lake than on AM5 or Meteor Lake once the memory topology improves and controllers get refined.

Absolutely unique compared to the usual OC experiences with Ryzen 1st and 2nd models. My older 8700K might not be the fastest, but it works fine for its age. I’m not looking to upgrade to AM4 just yet—just settling for what fits my current budget.

Where did this information originate? Also, the benchmarks suggest a different outcome, it doesn<|pad|> to be honest. AM4 isn't the right choice; Alder Lake DDR4 is actually quite strong, which is exactly what I'd consider for a new build today.

Uncertain about the benchmarks, but the old RTX 2060 worked fine for me. Achieved 3DMark06 49604 scores. Most legacy games ran well since Steam wasn’t installed. I haven’t seen any AMD benchmarks surpass it yet. People would need to submit those tests for comparison. I’m planning a DDR4 12th-gen rig and have the memory available. A spare kit of 3600mhz B-Dies is ready, they easily handle 4000. I’d like a ROG board too; the Prime setup is just getting started. Memory overclocking seems restricted on these boards. At least my case is easy to upgrade. The Silverstone TJ07 still stands strong after all these years, haha!
