the update brought the fx4300 to 4.5ghz, improved the FSB and core voltage slightly, making it more stable now with lower temperatures. The max temperature for this CPU is 62c. The performance gain is almost insignificant since the GPU is quite old.

The HW monitor was displaying incorrect CPU and temperature data, but once the core temperature stabilized, it returned accurate readings. The FX 4300 running at 4.5GHz is comparable to an i3 Performance processor.

62 degrees for maximum performance is quite impressive, especially at 4.5GHz! As long as it stays within the operating temperature range, everything should be okay. Just keep an eye on temperatures exceeding 80 degrees if you're concerned.

Yeah, it's not terrible—it operates mainly between 45-55 degrees Celsius when running at full capacity with a 4.5GHz gaming setup. Impressive, right? My Arc case provides excellent airflow and has three fans working together.

remove the side panel and install an industrial fan approximately 80cm away, providing your PC with the necessary cooling.

I currently have the FX-4300 running at up to 4.4ghz, BIOS updated just a bit, RAM at around 1866, and temperatures have stayed very stable for my light gaming needs. Even with the cheapest heat-sink I've ever seen, it stays between 40-55°C. That's impressive, so I really want a better cooler and aim for something near 5ghz!?! xD

This board seems to be underperforming, and it doesn't seem like anyone likes it much. Would adding an 8-core be a good idea?
Can you share the exact BIOS settings I'm using? I have an FX-6300 (95W stock) on the same motherboard, but I can't overclock it at all. It even crashed after some time on the OS when using the "OC genie". Also, running this stock with an R9 270 and 8GB 1866Mhz RAM works fine for BF4 at full settings, though at 1440x900 it might be a low-quality motherboard. Maybe I just got a mediocre one :-]

I upgraded an FX-4300 to an FX 8350 on the 760gma-p34 board without seeing a significant boost.
