Hi, I understand you're just starting with overclocking and have an 8350 Black Edition with an MSI 970 Krait motherboard. You're using higher voltages but still facing stability issues. Your current settings give a Vcore of about 1.46 after increasing voltage by 0.1, and the system freezes after around 25 minutes of Prime 95. Could someone assist you in reaching a more stable overclock?

Don't aim higher than 1.42v on that board.
It looks nice but is actually quite basic, as discussed before.
4.2/4.3ghz – better save the day.

Your motherboard only supports a 4+2 power phase, which is far too limited for an octacore FX and overclocking. You’d require at least a 6+2 setup with superior quality MOSFETs, leading you to the 990FX lineup. In short, a fresh motherboard would be necessary unless you’re comfortable risking electrical issues or component failure.

amtseung :
your motherboard only has a 4+2 power phase, which is really insufficient for an octacore fx and even more so for overclocking. you’d need at least a 6+2 setup with much better quality mosfets, which brings you to the 990fx boards. basically, you’d have to replace it unless you’re comfortable risking electrical issues or component damage.
