Overclocking A8-3850
Overclocking A8-3850
Hi,
To overclock your AMD A8-3850 APU on an ASUS F1A75-M-PRO R2.0 BIOS 5601, you'll need to adjust certain settings in the BIOS. For a safe approach with a stock fan, stick to default or low overclocking parameters. You can explore boosting the clock speed up to around 3.4 GHz using the stock fan, but avoid pushing it too high initially.
I managed to boost the CPU to 3.075GHZ by adjusting the bus speed to 106mhz, yet observed the performance caps at 2.89GHZ in Windows Task Manager (even during a stress test). The manager also lists the base speed as 2.9GHz. CPUz confirms the bus speed is set to 106mhz and core speed is 3075Mhz. Increasing the bus speed further causes the BIOS to fail to recognize my NVMe SSD or RAID setup, making it seem unstable above 107mhz.
