Overclocking a RAM module.
Hello everyone, I've got two 8 GB RAM sticks from XPG, both with the same timing. One is running at 3200 MHz and the other at 3000 MHz. I changed both to use 3200 MHz via BIOS and ran them with testmem5 (an extreme setup by Anta). No issues have arisen. Is it safe to keep them overclocked? My current setup includes: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 MB, RAM - 16 GB, GPU - MSI ARMOR GTX 1080 OC. The stick I overclocked is XPG Hunter with 8 GB DDR4 at 3000 MHz.
It's definitely secure. 3200 is just a minor boost, and any issues would only occur if it wasn't actually reliable.
