I'm working with a 2x8GB kit of 3200MHz CL16 RAM on an i5 10600K. Looking for a solid overclocking plan—either via MSI Dragon Center or BIOS tweaks.

Check if overclocking is active with XMP in BIOS. If yes, raise the DRAM frequency manually and keep XMP on, adjusting slowly while testing. Reduce it if instability appears. Find the memory part number using CPU-Z and look at the SPD section. Take a photo if you're uncertain.

The xmp profile is active, many are advising against overclocking RAM and claiming it won’t improve performance on Intel systems.

Essentially it varies based on the achievement. Those around you using similar settings would likely suggest adjusting to 3433mhz, but your setup with 4000mt/s or higher would give you a noticeable edge—single digits in performance. You might also tweak the cache frequency to handle memory changes. Use AIDA64 and the memory benchmark in the tools section to track improvements. Observe the memory and cache overclock results, and present your before-and-after figures to others. For FPS, it's less critical since the GPU handles most rendering; focus instead on boosting GPU memory for better frame rates. System memory upgrades also enhance overall performance across all apps that rely on RAM.
