I’m just starting out with overclocking and have some questions about the process and its potential dangers.
As previously mentioned, even a successful overclock poses a risk, as it increases wear on parts—particularly graphics cards—and shortens their lifespan. The more extreme the overclock, the more significant the reduction in expected life. Nevertheless, in most situations, the components will last beyond your usage period; provided you use a quality power supply from a trusted manufacturer capable of managing the extra power needs that overclocked parts demand.
Heat is the main concern; therefore, a thoughtfully designed case with ample airflow and superior cooling solutions is essential.
