Overclocking 8350K
The settings for overclocking i3 8350K in Gigabyte Z370 D3H are not specified in the provided context.
Mine performed well on Gentoo with an Asus Prime A Z370 at 4.5Ghz (1.140V) and 4.9Ghz (1.305V). I turned off all power settings for the CPU. That was Asus; now I have Gigabyte, and the power menu is much better. Check out the YouTube video for overclocking the 9900K.
As mentioned by @rgd1101, each CPU behaves differently. Observing OC videos and reading instructions about the i3-8350k can create a misleading impression of its capabilities. Many review platforms use limited samples, and it's rare to find someone claiming their chip can reach 5.0Ghz. Most discussions about the i3-8350k focus on those rare 'exceptional' cases.
Unfortunately, it seems I'm among the less fortunate. My i3-8350k consistently struggles to reach 4.6Ghz at any voltage—even at a higher voltage of 1.39V for testing. I use a decent board (Z370 Gaming Plus) and an H80i v2 cooler, but temperatures have never been a problem. The chip begins to fail Prime95 with AVX instructions above 4.5Ghz. It's just how it is.
