Hey everyone,
I just set up my new workstation with an i9 9980xe and 128 GB of RAM. It’s designed for rendering and 3D work, but I’m looking to boost its performance. Is there a safe method to overclock this CPU? I’m using liquid cooling because of its power.

Also, are those heavily overclocked CPUs worth the investment? If so, where can I purchase one?

PS Sometimes I play games—just CS titles—but it doesn’t really matter since it’s in my office.

Thanks ahead for your help.
Peace!!!

You should be asking this in the overclocking forum section ( https://forums. ) but I would not overclock it if you care for stability since overclocking your CPU doesn't guarantee stability of your system. Sure you might speed up your process a little but if you have tight deadlines that you are keeping up with then I don't see much of a reason to overclock. You might not get any problems and have better performance for sure but what if your render crashes when you don't have much time left to give the finished project to a customer? Do you want to take that chance?

Is there a method to increase performance or speed? What would gamers use with an i9 9980xe?

Gamers wouldn't choose a 9980XE since there are more suitable gaming CPUs available at a cheaper cost

3d rendering relies on the GPU as well. Which graphics card are you using? Additionally, what power supply unit is providing the necessary power?

You can increase your CPU from 3ghz to 4.6ghz by optimizing settings and ensuring proper hardware support.
