Build: CPU 2990wx GPU 2x RTX 2080 Strix Sli NVlink MOBO x399 MSI Meg creation NVMe 2x 970 Samsung PRO 512Gb RAID 0 RAM 32Gb (8gb x 4) vengeance 2400MHz Cooling Hailea ultra titan hc500 (790watt cooling capacity) PSU 1300w seasonic prime 80+gold UPC 1350W I maintain a stable overclock of 4.15Ghz @ 1.35V. My goal is to reach 4.25Ghz at least. Currently I'm at 4.2Ghz @ 1.38V (Tdie 44C). Aida64 works fine but after a few Cinebench tests it crashes. No other settings available. Could you assist with further adjustments? Thanks.

Desire and ability differ. Overclocking issues stem from varying chip specs and random luck. My CPU struggled to exceed 4GHz despite better models aiming for 5GHz. If all chips could match those rates, marketing would likely change. Zen 2’s automatic overclocking often promises speeds that aren’t consistently achievable. This makes home overclocking less useful and can lead to unmet advertised goals.

I noticed many users facing difficulties with 4GHz and higher voltages. I’m counting on a top-tier CPU and if my OC reaches 4.15GHz, I should be able to hit 4.25GHz.

This CPU has limited capabilities. The best option was to use CCX overclocking, but that wasn't available before the Zen2 update.

Unlikely to occur. Zen plus a slight reduction brings it under 4.2 GHz. Satisfied with the current 4.15 GHz.
