overclocking 2200G
overclocking 2200G
system built with ryan 2200g+ stock cooler, gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 rev1x, 2400mhz 2x4gb ram, smasung 860evo, corsair vs450 orange.
i’ve been considering a slight overclock from the base clock of 3.5 to around 3.6-3.65ghz for both cpu and gpu, keeping voltage in auto mode via bios.
i’m curious if the stock cooler can manage this setup. right now my system stays under 70c during full load for a long time.
i play rust and would love a 2-5fps boost without overstressing the hardware.
(yes, adding more ram or better storage would definitely help reach 5+fps instantly if possible.)
IIRC... focusing on overclocking memory provides the biggest advantage for gaming. Start there first.
Once you've identified the optimal memory speed, move on to the GPU next.
Increasing CPU overclocking gives minimal gains, affecting both clock speeds and FPS in games. It also restricts how much GPU overclocking is possible due to higher package temperatures. Save your CPU efforts until you maximize what you can from the GPU.
There are several tutorial videos showing people doing it—worth checking out. Many use stock cooling solutions.
