some devices allow adjustments yet they remain inactive due to a lock, so temperatures shouldn't shift even when nothing alters. You're still running at stock speed.

it might have been a side effect of this kind of OC on skylake, causing the temperature sensor to stop working, maybe it simply disrupts the sensor.

The issue might not be related to this particular OC on Skylake; it could simply affect temperature sensing. This is more consistent with Sandy Bridge behavior, where temperatures responded accurately to usage patterns.
