overclock to much? help
today i experimented with MSi afterburner, pushing everything to maximum to test the effects. it’s clear I’m getting into the system as you can tell, or else i wouldn’t have done that. my monitor turned pink and white, but i managed to see the background still. panicking, i shut off the pc and turned it back on. everything looked normal when i restarted. after running a benchmark, heaven-benchmark reported everything was fine. however, when playing games now, i notice my fps has dropped significantly—sometimes not below 40, often between 30 to 35. i’m not entirely sure, but it feels like the average fps has decreased too. my main concern is whether i damaged my gpu and if overclocking properly could restore those frames. specs: msi gtx 1050, amd fx 8370, motherboard (msi) 970, 500w, 12gb ram.
Your graphics card is functioning properly. The issues you observed are typical. You didn't just shut down your system abruptly, which was the correct action. It would have taken a long time to damage the card. If you had left it in that state for some time, problems might have arisen.
OCing usually leads to crashes until you reach the optimal setting. Proceed gradually, taking small steps, and monitor GPU temperatures closely.

Hey, thank you a lot because I was really worried. Also, do you know what a normal temperature for your card should be?
