I have this 4.0GHz light OC at 1.1V installed in my MSI X99A SLI plus. It works under all stress tests for fixed VCore. They suggested switching to adaptive once it's done, but I worry it might raise the voltage too high. Can I use adaptive with a limit? Speedstep and turbo boost are active.
Adaptive can increase by about .1v beyond your fixed Vcore values. I've observed this during stress tests such as Prime95, certain games like Metro LL, and even brief web sessions. There seems to be no limit that stops this behavior with adaptive.

Adaptive can "spike" up to around .1v over your static Vcore settings. I've seen this myself when testing my OC and examining logfiles in HWMonitor Pro. This would occur in stress tests like Prime95, some games like Metro LL, and even web browsing for a very short time interval. I don't think there is a cap to prevent this from happening w/ adaptive.
I changed it to "Adaptive + Offset". Set Vcore to 0.95 and offset to 0.01V. Stress test went fine, max 1.071 Vcore at 4.0GHz.
