overclock i5 750 to 4.0ghz using cryorig H7
Hello everyone, I'm new around and sorry if I sound a bit clueless.
I'm trying to overclock my i5 750 to about 3.6-4.0ghz for gaming and personal use. I've checked some forums but haven't found a solid answer. Can anyone say whether reaching at least 3.6ghz with a CryCore H7 and a load temp under 70°C is possible?
Also, should I invest in a better cooler like the Noctua NH-D14 or another recommended air cooler? I don't want to risk my system because of a leaking water cooler.
My setup looks like this: CPU - i5 750 (currently 3.6ghz with stock cooler, not heavy gaming), RAM - 2x2GB Corsair XMS3, GPU - NVIDIA GALAX GTX750TI, PSU - Corsair GS600, case - Cooler Master CM 690 (original version).
Thanks in advance!
Finally I purchased the CRYORIG H7 for my setup since the Noctua NH-U14S were out of stock.
The CryoH7 performs excellently on a 4.0Ghz i5 750 with overclocking.
There was no regret, and its performance at the cost was impressive.
At around 24°C ambient temperature with full fan speed (SMART fan control turned off), the results were:
- Lowest idle temperature reached 49°C
- Highest temperature under full load (AIDA64) was 77°C
This is excellent for my rig, as I mainly use it for light games such as Dota 2 or CS GO.
Playing CS GO at maximum settings only increases the CPU temperature to a maximum of 67°C.
I strongly recommend the CRYORIG H7—it's an outstanding budget cooler!
