Overclock help needed 3950x AIO – sounds like a storm
I built a system with a 3950x CPU, an Asus ROG Strix LC 360 cooler, and the Ryzen 9 3950X. I tried overclocking using Ryzen Master and noticed the AIO cooler getting very loud—sometimes reaching 90% speed, almost like a storm. It sounded quite intense, even from across the room. After applying the overclock, fan speeds occasionally spiked to around 2400 RPM. I wasn’t sure if that was normal behavior, but it definitely made me wonder about the noise level during overclocking.
You adjusted the voltages correctly. Your 3900x behaves similarly until you changed your fan wiring (the initial build didn’t account for proper placement of your AIO fans). I tried to set up a negative case pressure system, and it helped make the PC quieter.
Try reduced voltages, boot Ryzen Master, then switch to overclocking mode
