Hey, your CPU is beginning to show signs of wear every now and then. You're looking for a performance boost without risking damage. Aiming for around 3.8 or 3.9 GHz would be ideal. You have three fans on your PC and are using the Antec 600 case, which should help. Your setup includes an AMD Phenom II Black X4 965 processor at 3.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM (7.18 GB usable), a Nvidia GTX 660 graphics card, a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard, and a Benq GW2255 monitor via DVI. You're also using the Corsair HX650W power supply.

Choose a high-quality CPU cooler instead of a standard one.

I received an 8350 after updating the BIOS on my 955, but it doesn't seem worthwhile to push its speed further.

The last time I tried overclocking was when my computer was really slow. I added another 0.5 hz, but I think I could go even higher if I had a better fan.

Antti-jussi Vainikainen shared his latest test outcome from overlocking his 965 last week. He provided a link to his result: http://imgur.com/yWZ3C7I. His 24-hour Prime95 test showed no crashes, with a maximum temperature of 52°C. He mentioned having the same CPU with a V8 cooler, four fans, and a master cage, consistently reaching around 38°C. He noted that the CPUID HW monitor doesn’t display core temperatures, but he wonders if using the same multiplier would yield similar stable results during intense gaming sessions.
