Hi All,
Here are the details of my PC specs:
CPU: 9700k
GPU: MSI RTX 2080 Gaming Trio
Mobo: MSI Z390 Ace
I aim to boost my CPU from 9700k to 4.9 GHZ for smoother performance in AAA games. Could you provide the precise overclocking settings for the 9700k CPU on the MSI Z390 Ace? Also, is there any risk of damaging the motherboard during this process? If not, please advise how to proceed with overclocking the CPU.
Thanks
Ryan

It’s best to overclock directly in the BIOS, or at least that’s what all the guides said. Auto overclockI got will use higher voltages and run hotter. I strongly suggest looking up guides and reading a few before starting. I’ve overclocked several of my systems over the years and still research guides before overclocking my latest system.

Every configuration varies, even two identical setups can overclock differently. Check overclocking guides for your motherboard, CPU, and read multiple resources. People have different opinions on safe voltages and settings. You don’t start with a fixed speed or configuration; you gradually increase in small steps, testing each time. If it remains stable, you can try a slight adjustment. This subject is more complex than what can fit in a single post.

No, you cannot use Intel xtreme utility to overclock the CPU. It does not automatically suggest the necessary overclock settings for your processor.
