Hello,
I recently purchased an x99 setup specifically for future-proof gaming. From what I’ve learned, OCing is mainly useful for productivity and content creation, but could it even impact gaming performance?
I own the 5820k and have no prior experience with OCing, though I’ve heard this chip offers a lot of flexibility to experiment with.

It can assist in games but will also cancel the warranty, which most people don’t mind. Performance might be around 5-10 FPS at best. I’ve never OC’d it, so just go slowly and avoid pushing too high. Run a stress test with an AIDA 64 if it crashes, then lower the settings.
