I recently increased my 980ti's performance using gigabyte OC guru II. The card originally ran at 1064/1152 MHz with a memory clock of 7010 MHz. After overclocking, it reached 1233/1321 MHZ GPU clock, 7040 MHz memory clock, an offset core voltage of 0.0625V, and power was set to 103% under 'target'. Benchmarking without overclock on unigen Heaven at ultra quality with the highest presets at 1440p gave FPS: 47.1, Score: 1188, Min FPS: 26.1, Max FPS: 62.2. After overclocking, results improved to FPS: 50.4, Score: 1269, Min FPS: 27.7, Max FPS: 60.3. Is this an effective overclock? Could I achieve even better performance while maintaining stability? Also, during this process, OC guru frequently restored my settings to defaults, and the default power is now 0% with a temperature of 90C. Any advice would be appreciated.
Most of the 980 Ti chips available have been thoroughly tested. You can usually get a solid understanding of what the card can do by looking up its model online. Any reputable review site will have had it overclocked during testing. I'm really satisfied with my 980 Ti and haven't even tried overclocking it yet—I've had it since last summer.
