Outlook Search may overlook some emails.
Hi,
I'm experiencing issues with the Outlook search function not displaying certain emails. I've tried several solutions like reinstalling Office 365, deleting and rebuilding the Outlook profile, re-indexing, and restarting the Microsoft search service. Despite these efforts, the emails remain missing from the results. I also attempted to use the new Outlook interface, but it doesn't meet my needs.
Consider the possibility that the "new outlook" resolved a previous search problem that prevented the "old outlook" from locating the relevant emails. Could you share an example of a failed search containing the targeted words? Please also specify the exact search parameters used.
That was my thought that perhaps I should wait for the outlook updates. I looked for an email from [email protected] using the criteria copier and [email protected] in the current mailbox.
When the target emails are confirmed in the inbox, adjust the search to focus on relevant keywords or phrases. Ensure the search covers all email folders and checks existing rules. Also, clarify the specific company or service associated with "[email protected]" and its details.
they conducted separate searches. i can verify that the desired email is in the inbox. i have ensured the search covers all mailboxes. i am looking for an internal email from the copier machine with an attachment. there are other emails from [email protected] that appear in searches, but not all of them are certain.
What is the "Sender name" on those emails?
What model and make of the copier are we talking about?
Is the copier configured to forward emails to your address even when it encounters issues like missing ink, toner, or paper?
What sets apart the emails that appear from those that are uncertain?
Are you employing wildcards? They are not permitted in Outlook.

the sender is [email protected]. it is a ricoh copier and the emails are appearing in my inbox. however, when I look them up in outlook, some messages show up while others don’t. the same sender and machine are involved, but the emails have different names—like RM05567FG2 versus RM055638FT—and only one appears in the search results. I’m not using wildcards.
