But GTA IV's suggested requirements were something like this: CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz; RAM - 2 GB (Windows XP), 2.5 GB (Windows Vista); OS - Windows Vista SP1, XP SP3, Windows 7. Graphics - NVIDIA 8600+ or ATI 3870+. Running it in real mode feels fine, I don’t plan to upgrade for years, but maybe a system around 2017 if performance drops, I upgraded much sooner than expected—from a 560Ti to a 760 after Christmas 2012 to 2013. The 560Ti was really noisy and bothersome. These issues aren’t there in the 760 I have, and I’m okay with playing at lower settings.

I enhanced my 660 with a 970 a few months back as part of the upgrade plan.

No major upgrades needed on my system. Some might argue for GPUs, but sticking with the 970 SLI setup makes sense.

Your 970 should hold up well in most games at 1080p, but eventually you might need something more powerful like an i5. Your FX-6300 also looks capable, but it may not last very long with heavy workloads.
