Other way of taking shots
Hey, curious about whether anyone has tried linking the "shoot" key for control or shifting instead of a regular mouse click. Thought it might not add much value, but just wanted to check if anyone has experimented with it.
One of my friends had the 'shoot' key tied to the 'S' key, and then he rewired it so the back and forward buttons were on the left and right mouse buttons. I don’t know why he did it this way, but he always did like this. I’ve tried using that method before, but I never got used to it.
I used to attach the shoot button for scrolling up and played around with a pistol in Combat Arms. It was always enjoyable. I usually change movement keys to ESDF for better placement options, though it requires constant adjustments. It's frustrating, but I find it worthwhile.
You're starting a campaign in BF3 with controls set to shoot and left-click enabled, and crouch bound to center. Looking forward to seeing the results!
yeah, that was what I was thinking initially, for long range single shots, it might be useful, but then...why not lower dpi But... I really tried to find a use for the non-left-click button and found that 1. it screws with your muscle memory 2. it requires slightly more coordination (subjectively) 3. it really did not bring much beneficial to the table 4. if anything, it took longer to react to a sudden action/movement than left-click overall...I feel it's pointless unless you can be bothered reworking your muscle memory, otherwise, just stick with what's familiar. If you can get used to it then *thumbs up*
My adaptation skills are strong and I face no issues when adjusting muscle memory. I typically rely on keyboard shortcuts for most activities and seldom use the mouse. This approach is gentler on my hand and wrist, providing better precision with the mouse since I can focus solely on the right hand for accurate movements without the distraction of clicking.
