I put it in a VM (a great choice for shaky OSes). It works fine. The only cool parts are the start menu and the many desktops—those really feel like Windows 8.2. I’m excited to see what comes next with these big updates.

I have saved it now; just need to install it. I think I should get an extra SSD since I don’t want to use my Windows 8.1 Pro.

It's actually strange, though I don't get how the Win 10 messed with your BIOS. Maybe it wasn't the operating system because you never got it restored. I really don't understand how that could happen.
