Windows Defender covers the basics. Malwarebytes helps verify it too. For a premium option, Kaspersky is worth considering if you don’t mind spending more.

I rely on Trend Micro, it often consumes more memory than I prefer, yet it performs its tasks effectively. At first, I had 8GB of RAM and Trend Micro was using a lot, which was frustrating, but now I have 16GB and it’s no issue at all.

This feature is where BullGuard shines, since instructing it to keep certain files away will cause them to remain inactive. Other antivirus programs may not let you define exclusions after a detection, or they might remove the files outright.
