It could be a BIOS problem... were you certain you updated to the correct BIOS? It should note support for your CPU. Did you forget to update the BIOS or chipset drivers? You have an MSI B550M MORTAR Wi-Fi and it’s working perfectly, no problems at all.

Yea, was finally able to get the bios to take and finally able to get the machine running. Thank goodness, but still have problems with it. I have never had so many problems with one single type/model of board like I have this one. After several days of trying, I am finally able to get it to run with (2x8) sticks of Corsair Vengeance ram but would be extremely happy to get the others to run also for a total of (4x8). All the ram is from a matched set so I don't understand why only two will work. Still in the process of getting all the drivers installed for windows. Have you ever heard of something called INTime RT Device Drivers along with something called INTime Bridge Host Driver? I have never seen these before so I'm in the process of hunting them down today along with something called Fresco Logic xHCI (USB3) Root Hub. Once those things are said and done I will be able to pass this machine on to my stepson. He used his old machine to play World of Warcraft but the latest game expansion would not run on his outdated machine so it was time for an upgrade. I'm just ashamed and embarrassed that it has take me this long to finally get it all put together. I'm really looking forward to being able to put this machine to rest and get it returned. Yea, getting the BIOS updated was a really BIG help, just got to figure out why only two sticks of ram work. Funny thing about the ram is they only work in slots B1 and B2. Of course, I couldn't do it without yours and everyone else's help here in the forums. Good Luck and Take Care.

Nice... (had some similar problems with my B350M, until I fixed it—it seems more of a Ryzen thing than a motherboard issue... the team is pushing out BIOS updates like candy...) remember, Ryzen doesn’t like 4 sticks. It’s better to get a 2x setup depending on your needs. I used a Trident Z 2x8 B-DIE and it’s working perfectly—no problems at all, and the RGB is amazing! (Big Grin) 20240919_094028_001_001_001.mp4 Sorry for the spill, but if you want to run stress-free, check the B-die site!

The 4 versus 2 sticks debate was examined by Gamers Nexus, who discovered higher FPS with four sticks. They also noted possible stability concerns.

I was completely unaware of the problems others faced. About a month ago I added four sticks to my setup and haven’t encountered any issues—probably lucky!

There are numerous elements at play, including the motherboard, BIOS, RAM, and particularly the silicone lottery—since each chip varies slightly.

Also regarding Mobo makers, it seems more about personal taste than actual quality. There was someone here who really enjoyed his Asus boards without any problems. Personally, I lean toward MSI mainly because I’m familiar with the setup—roughly where things stand—and I understand how they function (mostly). Basically, set the RAM voltage to 1.36V instead of the suggested 1.35V, reduce SOC a bit, and you should be fine. (It looks like these boards really dislike 1.35V unless it’s the default XMP setting.)
