I recently aimed to build a new Hackintosh and discovered it was quite straightforward to utilize the resources from this GitHub repository: https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM. You don’t even need a Mac to obtain the installation image. My only advice would be to allocate extra disk space if possible, opt for a raw disk image paired with qcow2, since the latter appears to be quite slow—even on an i7-8th core with a solid NVMe SSD as the storage medium.
