You need to upgrade your operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit. Your current 32-bit Windows 10 Pro will still work, but you’ll be limited by RAM size. To switch, you can download the latest 64-bit version of Windows from Microsoft and follow their installation instructions. Make sure your hardware supports it before proceeding.

there’s another issue beyond what we thought; even with a 32-bit OS, it might not display properly. You could test on a 64-bit system to check if the problem resolves.

The BIOS shouldn't necessarily need an update after a year, though automatic updates are possible. It depends on the manufacturer's policy. Regarding RAM, DDR3 compatibility with a motherboard mainly hinges on the pin count matching the slot—so yes, it can work if they fit.
