Orion is back online.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/407840/ Everything with the dcma has been resolved and the game is back on steam, for $1 it does offer a lot of content currently such as dinosaurs, robots, explosions, a survival mode and another wave based mode where you protect a machine, and with much more to come such as pvp, and racing. Plus until july 4th it is only $0.49 for some dino shooting fun. Frankly $1 is is worth it just to explore the maps they have created, they do look amazing. The developers really do care about the game, and community, and are active in the game, and on the steam discussions. NOTE Please don't take over this thread with commnts about the dcma, or anything relating to asset stealing as those have all been resolved.
I just found out something about the DCMA and wondered what the game is all about. It sounds like a topic I haven't encountered before.
Activision took the game off Steam due to a DMCA claim. It seems the ORION team possibly borrowed or adapted gun assets from another game, modified them, and re-released it under a new title to address negative reviews. The experience is mainly about shooting dinosaurs in an MMO setting, with limited activities now. I’ve heard of ORION: Dino Beat Down /Dino Horreum (now ORION: Prelude). They kept releasing the game under different names likely to improve its reception. Overall, it’s still entertaining despite the low quality of both titles. You can buy them together for just $1 right now.
Activision said they stole resources from them so there was a DMCA claim. This is a pretty cool top-down shooter about dinosaurs and shit. They've added a first person mode (or third I don't remember) per popular demand. One of those games that's boring alone, but cool with friends.
