Original DOOM lacks WAD files.

I'm searching for WAD files for the 1993 shareware release of DOOM. I've been using the game on my DigitaOS camera through the DOOM for Digita port, but it's hard to locate WADs that work with source ports. Anyone have recommendations or resources for finding mods and WADs not tailored for ZDoom or similar versions? Thanks!

It seems the changes from 1993 to today weren't as significant as you thought. You may need to focus on WADs created before the mid-2000s.

Many current WAD files are designed for updated engine releases, which means they may not work with the original shareware edition.

Found a file named DOOM1.WAD from the zip archive. It appears to be a version of Doom shared in older formats. The link points to an archive page with details about its release.
