Looking for a solid 3D software to create a desk model? There are several great options available. Blender is highly recommended for its powerful features and free availability. Another popular choice is SketchUp, which offers an intuitive interface for modeling furniture. If you prefer a more affordable option, Tinkercad provides a user-friendly experience with basic 3D capabilities. Each of these tools has its strengths depending on your skill level and project needs.

I built my own desk and I find 3D models interesting, but I recommend adding paper sketches too. Things like connections are important. When setting up power for your hardware, consider adding extra outlets—what I did already works well. Plan your cable routing with some space; it makes future adjustments easier. A basic switch for lights or screens is very useful—it lets you control everything from one button while your PC runs. You might be surprised by how often you’ll need it. Good luck and enjoy showcasing your project!
