It seems Ubiqity has released a new gadget. Have you heard about it yet? The Cloud Gateway Fiber page provides details: https://techspecs.ui.com/unifi/unifi-clo...fiber?s=eu I previously used Ubiquiti APs and found them reliable, but recently installing the ‘Wall Pro’ at a friend’s home was problematic. The setup only worked on a smartphone and kept dropping calls. Eventually, I had to use Bluestacks to finish it. My provider lists specs for 10G or 25G, but I haven’t found clear guidance from Ubiquiti. Would this fit your needs? The price looks attractive.

Typically in the US, the fiber company offers a media converter (like ONU/ONT) or a gateway (such as a media converter/router). Does your ISP require you to supply that hardware too?

I spoke with my service provider. If I mention the device I want, they’ll supply the compatible transceiver and fiber options. (Note, I’ll have to cover the cost, but I’m confident they won’t overcharge me.)

In short, I need everything required for 10G but upgrading to 25G isn’t feasible. The main issue is finding consumer hardware that supports 25G. A typical setup would involve FTTH-Plug → Fiber → transceiver (like Flexobtic 10G SFP+ BiDi LR) → Router (such as Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber) → another transceiver for 10GBASE-T over copper (or a 10G fiber-to-office switch like MikroTik CRS3). End devices could be NICs with SFP+ or RJ45. I’m unsure about the exact switch type, but using a MikroTik with an SFP+ module for fiber or RJ45 would be beneficial if the end devices support it. If the switch were 25G compatible, I’d already have the right components ready.
