Recently I've experienced an unusual problem where the startup screen lights up every morning, and it stays on regardless of how long I leave it on. When I power it off, I can only restart it and it boots normally unless I make a recent change—like adding another 16GB of RAM three months ago. Since the issue started about a week ago, I've tried replacing one RAM stick at a time in each slot, but nothing changes. It seems unrelated to the CPU or power supply, as I haven't replaced any components and don’t have spare parts on hand. I'm trying to figure out what to do next without spending more money than necessary.

Don't dismiss the new RAM stick, it's important to check everything during PC problems. I was surprised to find out a different RAM model I thought was okay. Start by resetting your CMOS to refresh your BIOS, then see if that resolves any issues—perhaps an overclock or XMP profile is the cause.

I removed the CMOS and experimented with various settings. I brought parts from my wife's PC to test her RAM, but the problem persisted. My GPU also didn’t help. Memtest86 showed no errors after 4 hours. I ruled out the RAM and checked other areas yesterday. Recently, some new symptoms appeared more often—usually once or twice before they became worse. Previously, I experienced significant FPS drops in games I shouldn’t have, like Escape Simulator, where I dropped to 12 FPS and stayed there despite reaching a maximum of 22 FPS. I tried Far Cry 5, which also had occasional FPS issues. It seems my CPU might be the cause. I’m using the latest BIOS and kept monitoring CPU, GPU, and RAM usage during games. Everything looks normal at startup, but FPS drops afterward.
