I built my machine in September of last year and purchased an I7 9700k. I intended to boost its speed but lacked instructions. Realizing the risk of damaging everything, I left it untouched. I acquired a Corsair RMx 850 for $132 and plan to use it with my existing setup—MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC and Corsair H100i Pro RGB.

The CPU supports up to 1.4V, with a slightly sluggish LLC (loadline calibration). However, it’s likely to overheat. Consider 1.3V, a 4.8GHz core, and a 4.5GHz cache/ring first.

It's a straightforward approach: boost the clock speed to 102.9, turn on multi-core optimization, and set AVX to zero in the BIOS. I haven't encountered any issues with this on any Intel processor or during overclocking the motherboard. Now all eight cores are running around 5.04Ghz—perfectly stable and impressive.

Well, you didn't need a 850W power supply for just one GPU setup. Pushing the i7-9700K to overclock won't instantly boost power consumption by around 300W. As for the CPU voltage, it should stay around 1.4V. The exact overclock range depends on your experience and luck with the silicon. Personally, aiming for 4.4–4.6 GHz across all cores at about 1.3V would be a solid beginning, then gradually increase step by step (like 1.3V → 4.7 GHz, then 4.8 GHz, etc.).
