Hi, I checked the link you shared. I recently assembled my current setup, using standard components. I play games like Minecraft, League of Legends, and Overwatch... sometimes other casual titles too. During League of Legends’ loading screen, my time is only marginally quicker than a typical SSD (around 6 seconds). I also know someone who built a very costly system with two Samsung 850s in RAID 0. Their load times were under a second! ...and they streamed on Twitch. They definitely had an expensive machine :p. This question is just for curiosity and learning. I’m not planning any upgrades, but I’d love to hear what others think about loading speeds and ways to improve them. Was my assumption about CPU limits correct? My SSD reads are 2200 and the two 850s together are just over 1000 (sorry, units unclear). As I said, I won’t change anything and I’m confident in my current performance. Thanks for reading!

When playing online, performance depends on reading rate, processor power, and connection speed.

In theory, switching to an i7-6900K could improve performance since it offers higher clock speeds.

It depends on whether the design is thread-optimized. A 6900k core speed isn't as strong as 6600k, particularly under load, so if your app isn't built for multiple threads, you could end up with poorer performance. Also, it's just a waste of money.
