This game isn't significantly better than what we had before; it uses the same engine we lacked power for when GTA IV launched. The visuals have improved and there are some advanced effects, but nothing major. Just make sure your SLI is set up correctly and check how much resources it’s using. I ran GTA IV at its highest settings in 1440p on a 290 with 45–70 fps.

I noticed very similar results in my old 290, especially when comparing GTA IV and V, mainly due to some updated visual enhancements.
