Hey! I’ve switched from my GTX 970 to an RTX 2080 Super. I’m enjoying Warzone, but I’m facing a big slowdown because of my i7-6700k. At around 90fps on 1080p Ultra settings, it’s not up to the RTX 2080 Super’s capabilities. I usually have about 30% GPU usage and full CPU load, which makes sense given my setup. My CPU seems fine, but I’m worried it’s limiting my GPU performance. Should I really be overclocking or replace the CPU to hit 144fps? Changing settings to lower resolutions didn’t help much either. Benchmarks like TimeSpy and Furmark show normal GPU stats, and Cinebench is also okay. Any suggestions for boosting fps without a new CPU?

Easy to do, just right-click the desktop, go to NVIDIA Control Panel, select Manage 3D Settings, set Low Latency Mode to ULTRA. Your CPU usage will improve and frame times will get faster.

It seems like a poor bottleneck for a 6700K system. If you have a solid cooler for the CPU, consider a minor overclock. Raising the render scale to around 133% might help, as it would render at 1440p and reduce the load on the GPU while easing pressure on the CPU. Lowering visual settings is unlikely to improve performance since it mainly affects the GPU rather than the CPU.

He uses the same configuration but with a 2080Ti chip, achieving 120fps on a significantly sharper display.

Converting to 133% seems to increase CPU usage without improving performance. This might be adding unnecessary strain, lowering your frame rate instead.

He has the right cooler. About your RAM, it’s possible it’s slowing things down if it’s stuck at 2133MHz.

It seems like you're dealing with a high-performance setup that's running hot. Unless you adjust the settings to the maximum, your system might overheat. It could be worth trying an overclock to boost performance.
