I was thinking about improving the monitor as well, aiming for 1440p. Since one of them failed, I’ll need to purchase a replacement.

Considering the entire configuration? Which processor are you matching?

9700F could represent a complete upgrade with full specifications at the provided link. The Dell monitor mentioned appears outdated.

If you have the funds, I’d go all in. The 5600 is superior to the 9700F. Once you’re there, I’m eager to check out what you’ve created.

The current version lacks an optimized Nvidia driver, which is contributing to the problem. A "day one patch" is expected on Friday for the official launch. I'm hoping things improve more quickly.

With these specs in mind, should your child's setup handle the task smoothly on low power? In another thread we compared Ultra and Low, and performance remained solid... Raven : Intel i3 10100F - ASRock H410M-HDV - G. Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 2666Mhz - MSI 1050Ti 4GB - Inland 256GB SSD + Crucial MX500 1TB - TP-Link AC600 USB Wifi - Gigabyte GP-P450B PSU - Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L - Samsung 27"

I tend to push the limits but keep RT disabled. Effects like "ambient conclusion" and unusual lighting appear on medium settings. Shadows change based on the mode—high, max, or ultra—but they’re still noticeable, especially in fast games. I don’t see much difference from ultra, though textures are a bit more apparent. Games I can’t run at that level include Monster Hunter World; I usually stick to 60fps. With these settings, I hit around 100fps max, which feels pretty smooth for me compared to 60. New Tomb Raider titles would be next on the list, but they demand over 120fps with DX12. It seems I have a knack for skipping poorly optimized titles. Right now, I’m not keen on Monster Hunter World, though VRAM is a bigger concern here—at least 8GB minimum.
