GTA:V PC page file tips advice Hey everyone, when I first played the game I experienced some crashes. I found an article about setting the pagefile on my Samsung SSD and so far it hasn’t caused any issues. My RAM is usually at 95% capacity, CPU usage stays below 25%, GPU usage is normal, and the GRAM remains within limits (max 2.8GB used). I’m reaching out to see if my settings are appropriate. Pagefile settings: http://i.imgur.com/Rp1TUai.png My game runs on drive C with Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x64 (latest updates), Samsung 840 PRO 512GB SSD, Intel i7 5820K @ 4.0GHz (6 cores/12 threads, water cooled), Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 WindForce (latest drivers), 8GB RAM at 2133MHz DDR4 (ADATA, 2x4GB on duel channel), ASUS X99-A (Socket 2011-v3). Game settings: I don’t think there’s a major problem—Process Hacker says the highest GRAM used was 2.8GB. Shadows, water, and reflections are set to “Normal” because most games require more resources than they provide. -- I’m asking what pagefile configuration works best for my 8GB RAM, both at startup and full capacity; I’ve heard GTA:5 supports Windows page files even with huge RAM. P.S.: Temperatures aren’t the concern here. Thanks in advance!
Move the page file to the HDD regardless of the drive used. It doesn’t matter if it’s an SSD, it won’t improve performance. Keep the starting size equal to or reduced to half the maximum capacity. This prevents the system from appearing fully loaded.
