I'm not familiar with Windows, but I use it mainly for gaming and streaming (World of Warships, tanks, planes, casual CS:GO). I’m looking to get the best performance possible, but I’m unsure about driver updates. The only thing I can manage is setting the GPU to OC mode using Aorus software. I don’t have much knowledge on other settings like virtual memory, codecs, or advanced driver options. I stream with OBS (vanilla, not StreamLab) at 1080p and 30fps. My system includes an i7-8700 processor, ASRock Z370M chipset, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM (Corsair Vengeance LX), and a Gigabyte Aorus WaterForce Extreme 1080Ti with a Samsung EVO 850 256GB SATA SSD. I’m seeking advice, minor adjustments, helpful resources, and any registry changes if possible. I’m not confident in relying on Google anymore—they seem to push too many unnecessary tools. Thanks, and all hail Dennis!

Windows 10 offers a "high performance" setting that can boost system speed when you need it most. This mode turns off power-saving features for components like the CPU, keeping them running at full capacity during intense tasks such as gaming or heavy browsing. While it enhances responsiveness, it also increases power consumption, generates more heat, and may limit the CPU’s ability to turbo boost quickly. As a result, performance could drop over time if the system overheats. On the positive side, with strong cooling, some users notice slight improvements in benchmark scores in certain games. However, this setting is mainly beneficial when paired with reliable cooling solutions. It can also interfere with performance in laptops due to reduced turbo capabilities. Choosing between balanced and high-performance modes often depends on your hardware setup and usage habits.

I’ve updated the English in the opening sentence. The original was unclear, so I rephrased it for better clarity. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!
