Optimize your Android device for Windows 8.1 performance
Hey everyone, I came up with a fresh concept today: "What if I boost my phone’s performance to run Windows?" My goal is to install Windows 8.1 and I need to dedicate 2 GB of RAM for the operating system. With a dual-core processor, I have 1.8 GB free out of a total 3 GB under ideal settings. If I raise the processor speed to 1.60 GHz, push RAM up to 1200 MHz, and remove unused apps from Google and some stock programs like music apps, I might be able to work. I’m also considering deleting unnecessary files and installing a lighter Android version if that doesn’t help. If all else fails, I can extract the Windows 8.1 image, remove certain partitions and wallpapers, and edit the registry to make it run at a lower resolution. I’m also exploring using an external SD card for swap storage to potentially speed things up a bit. Thanks for your support!
EDIT1: Windows 8.1 lacks Corona Editor
EDIT2: Running on Limbo emulator
EDIT3: Planning to use 1GB swap storage from an external card
I'M USING LIMBO AS A SIMULATION TOOL SINCE I'VE BEEN SETUP AND EXECUTING MULTIPLE OSES
this is an experiment we don't care if it will fail or may work because its an experiment
I ran a Windows 95 VM using QEMU on my phone, it functions but I suspect Limbo caps RAM at 700MB. Alternatively, you might want to try ReactOS or a Linux distribution with Wine—it should perform better than Windows 8.1.
I've tried Limbo on several different phones. The latest Windows I could even launch was XP. It seems Limbo struggles with more than 640MB of RAM; on all four devices I tested, the virtual machine would crash immediately if I had even a little over 640MB. Plus, why choose Windows 8? It's really terrible. If you need a genuine operating system on your phone, it's better to run arm Linux inside a chroot environment with tools like Linux Deploy.
It shows up to around 2GB, but it appears to fail when exceeding 640MB.
Limbo relies on legacy programming, it’s better to adopt contemporary solutions for handling RAM demands exceeding 640MB.
