Optimize tightening of Ram speeds for Ryzen processors.
Optimize tightening of Ram speeds for Ryzen processors.
I understand the situation. I've used the DRAM Calculator before, but it keeps failing to load. Even adjusting one timing value changes the display to black. I'm comfortable going through the process step by step, but having some guidance would be helpful. The dimmer board I'm using is the GSKILL TRIDENT Z NEO RGB 32GB DUAL 3600 CL18 F4-3600C18D-32GTZN. It's a dual rank and Hynix CJR/DJR die. Most of the specs are listed, including Ryzen 5 3600 at 4.375GHz (1.2v) and an Asus B550 Strix-F Gaming with Wi-Fi included. I have a screenshot from the DRAM Calculator showing the results. If you can provide the same exact die or settings, it would be really useful.
Adjusting RAM speed and settings can sometimes require lowering the frequency to achieve desired timing. This tutorial proved useful in fine-tuning my setup to my preferences. Expect some experimentation and occasional resets of the CMOS, but persistence pays off. Not all RAM is designed for extreme tuning, so minor changes may provide reliable results.
Sometimes you struggle to achieve the desired timing for your RAM, no matter how long you invest in it. It's a frustrating reality.
After adjusting the BIOS, the DRAM calculator recommended a safe preset, except for TrfcI which differs from ASUS BIOS and hasn’t caused any issues so far. I’ve completed five memtest runs with no errors detected. It seems I should manually set the memory voltage to 1.350 V instead of letting it auto-set, which is improving the performance a bit.
